Our hugely popular Fire Safety Awareness Course is designed to raise awareness of fire hazards in the workplace and how to respond in the event of a fire emergency, including selecting and using the correct fire extinguisher depending on the type of fire.
This course has been designed to meet the requirements of both the 1981 Fire Services Act and Regulation 9 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.
All courses are delivered by professionals with many years of experience in the front line emergency fire service who are passionate about their training they deliver which guarantees student interaction and participation resulting in an enhanced learning outcome in this very popular course.

Aim of course:
This course is designed to give participants an understanding of the actions to take in the event of discovering a fire or upon hearing the fire alarm sound in the workplace.
- Fire safety legislation (Overview).
- Causes of fire in the workplace.
- Physics and chemistry of fire.
- Development and spread of fire.
- Classes of fire and method of extinction.
- Action in the event of fire or hearing the fire alarm.
- Raising the alarm and summoning the fire brigade.
- Evacuation procedures.
- Recognition and Operation of Fire Extinguishers.
- Tackling the fire.
- Short multiple choice exam and course assessment.
Classroom presentation on multimedia, supplemented by videos, and discussions throughout the course as well as a practical demonstration on the use and selection of fire extinguishers. The students complete a written multiple choice exam and course assessment at the end of the course.
Maximum of 12 participants per course
This course is of a 3 hour duration.
On successful completion of this course a Workplace Fire & Safety Training Certificate will be issued and be valid for 2 years.
All equipment necessary for practical exercises will be supplied by Workplace Fire & Safety Training.
